DIY Tinted Moisturizer…using Aveeno Ultra Calming Moisturizer and Maybelline Superstay Foundation

Hello my fellow beauties,

I know that many of us, hate to feel like we have pounds of foundation slapped on, but sometimes we just need the coverage. Recently, I started mixing my foundation and moisturizer to make my own Tinted Moisturizer; I mean, think about it, tinted moisturizer can be a little pricey, it can be hard to find the right shade, and most of the time, it has very poor coverage. By making your own, you can control how much coverage you want to get from your tinted moisturizer, you save money by using things you already have, and you already have the perfect shade in your foundation. I’m going to attempt to show you what I do in pictures. Hope this helps! 🙂

Before: As you can see, I have absolutely nothing on my face.I don’t have pimples anymore, but I was left with dark acne scarring which makes me feel quite insecure, so I feel the need to cover it,but I don’t want to slap on a whole bunch  of foundation.

So here is what I do to cover this up with my DIY Tinted Moisturizer,

Step 1) I take one pump of my Aveeno Ultra Calming Moisturizer on the top of my hand and as much foundation as I feel I need, as you will see below, I poured out a little bit too much. The more you put the more coverage you will get. If you just want medium coverage, use equal parts of moisturizer and foundation.

Use equal parts or just a tad bit more foundation than moisturizer,as I said before I poured out way too much foundation on accident.

Step 2) Mix it up with your clean finger, right on top of your hand.

This is what it’ll look like once it’s all mixed up

Step 3) Apply it on your face with your fingers or a brush of your choice. I use my fingers sometimes, but today I used a stippling brush. I didn’t take picture of this step because it’s kind of hard to take pictures while you’re trying to apply it, but here’s the finished product.

As you can see it covered very well; you can still see some of the spots, but for a tinted moisturizer it covered amazingly.

Step 4) If you’d like apply a powder to set it, you don’t have to, but I would recommend that you do, so that it’ll last longer. I just used the Elf Studio Translucent Powder.

So even if you don’t use this as a tinted moisturizer, this can be a quicker way to apply your foundation and moisturizer. If you mix them together, it’s like you’re cutting a step out of your routine. I hope this helps you girls out. Obviously, you don’t have to use the exact same products that I did. Use what you have, and save some money. If you have any questions or comments, leave it down below in the comments. Let me know if this works for you. 🙂
