I cannot (CANNOTTTTT) imagine life without an eyeshadow primer. Like, I think about the days PRIOR to using eyeshadow primers, and I cringe. I use eyeshadow primer every single day. Every damn day that there is makeup on my face, there is eyeshadow primer. I have used both UDPP (Urban Decay Primer Potion) and TFSI (Too Faced Shadow Insurance). Up until now, those have been the only two options for me because GTFO if you think I’m paying $24 for .26 fl oz of primer (looking at you, NARS) when I can get .35 fl oz (TFSI) or .37 fl oz (UDPP) for $20. I personally find it easier to blend eyeshadows using TFSI so that is what I have faithfully been using for over 5 (FIVE) years. I have always said certain things are worth investing in, and a good eyeshadow primer is one of them.
Move over TFSI and UDPP.
Gone are the days when you have to shell out $20 (plus tax) for a good eyeshadow primer. Hello Milani Eyeshadow Primer, “how you doin'” (Wendy Williams voice)
I saw this when I went to CVS to repurchase my Revlon Colorstay, as Revlon was BOGO 50% off. Somehow, this ended up in my purchase. Along with several other unintended items.
This is $6.49 for .30 fl oz.
Did you read that? Correctly? SIX DOLLARS AND FORTY-NINE CENTS FOR .30 FLUID OUNCES.
I know, right? Crazy.
I have been using Milani Eyeshadow Primer every day since the day I purchased it, which was about a week ago I believe and I can honestly say that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT, it is a complete dupe for higher end eyeshadow primers at a fraction of the cost.
Now, I’ve been using eyeshadow primers (like I said) for over 5 years, and I can tell you that either they work or they don’t. That’s why I am able to do a review of this so soon. I’ve been obsessed with TFSI for the longest time so I know exactly what a good primer is like.
This product is everything I need it to be. It is in a convenient squeeze tube just like my beloved TFSI. It is .30 fl oz which is less than TFSI and UDPP but at $6.49 who freaking cares because it’s so much more affordable. TWO of these are STILL CHEAPER THAN ONE department store primer. And it’s still more product than NARS which is .27 fl oz for $24.
I have nothing bad to say about Milani Eyeshadow Primer . It is amazing. Eyeshadow is 100% crease proof. I have used this on one eye and TFSI on the other just to compare, and yes this holds up. Is is the exact same consistency and color as Too Faced Shadow Insurance and I use the exact TINY amount of each. It takes me a long long time to go through one tube of Too Faced Shadow Insurance so I’ve always justified the price as “worth it” and “an investment” but those days are gone.
And with the money I saved by switching to Milani primer , I’m able to afford more makeup brushes.
I’ll update you guys when the weather starts warming up and getting humid outside to let you know how this passes that test. I’ll also update you the next time I blackout with my makeup on, and let you know how this looked the next morning. (The ULTIMATE test lol)
Try it. You WON’T be disappointed.
