Old Oliver Cromwell had the right Idea. He did not want to be portrayed as something he wasn’t, so he asked the artist to paint him as he was. I love looking naturally even toned and fresh faced, men dont get the gorgeous benefits of make up that we women have!
So here is me, bare faced. I am going to show you my daily foundation routine, step by step 🙂
I am so sorry about the lighting, I couldn’t get enough daylight at my small window where my desk is 🙁 So the flash got extra excited. The only good picture, is the very last one! lol
Argh, avert your eyes!! Ok so this is me with nothing on, except my serum and moisturiser. I have pretty uneven skin tone, under eye circles, freckles, blemish scars… And this is how I get my skin looking as natural, yet even as possible.
1. MAC Strobe Cream
As you can see, I apply a stroke to each cheek, forehead and down the nose, it just seems to even everything out a little before applying my foundation
I also like to use the Eyeko 3 in 1 cream, its a good dupe 🙂
Next I apply my foundation, my current favourite is the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation. I put one pump onto my glass candle holder (handy as anything) and dab my brush into it so the whole brush is covered.
3. Foundation Application
Oh the faces we make… heehee… So to apply this, I stipple the foundation over one half of my face, then buff it in with a MAC 187 brush. You can see in the bottom right picture, one half of my face is done and you can see the difference 🙂
I then do the other half, and voila!
I always use my Estee Lauder Double Wear concealer, I find it as a great base to even out my circles. I put one dot under each eye, a dot either side of my nose to even out the redness, and one dot on the tip of my nose. My nose is terrible because it gets so red… pretty much all the time, theres no flesh there 🙁
to finish off my eyes, I put a stroke of Lancome Flash Retouch under each eye, blend with my ring finger then set it with my pink powder, I am never without this powder, it is so amazing 🙂 it sets and totally gets rid of any blue/purpleness! EDIT: its from Fardel, I got it from Screenface.com and it is matt, no shimmer, and to me… better than powderflage.
The finished under eyes!
p.s For any blemishes I have, I always use the Clinique Blemish Solutions Concealer (the stuff is amazing)
5. Finishing Powder
I use the No7 Translucent powder, It is great for setting my make up, I am never oily by the end of the day! I dab this on with a large powder brush from Estee Lauder, I find it better than swiping it on.
I love using cream blushes at the moment. I use them on their own mostly, using an SS188 brush, it sheds like hell, but I use it anyway! I dot it on, then swirl it to get it nice and even. For this I am using my NYX Rouge Cream Blush in Natural.
Today I am just going to apply a powder blush over the top today I am using the NYX Powder Blush in Natural. I am using the ELF blush brush to apply it.
To give me a nice glowy look, I always put on a highlighter, without fail. I love the look of this one, its the Collection 2000 blush in So Pretty. I put it on with a standard blush brush from The Body Shop. Look at the glow 🙂 love it!
And that is it!! I hope you liked this post! 🙂
