Maybelline and Rimmel Lipstick Swatches

Shopping for Lips

Recently I started noticing that all cosmetic brands rised their prices and it seems so ridiculous to me, because now we pay more for the same quality, packaging, etc. I wanted to buy new lip products, so I decided to find some good alternatives in more affordable brands.

Maybelline and Rimmel Lipstick Swatches

01.Maybelline Colorsensational in 527 “Lady Red”, 02.Rimmel Lasting Finnish in 120 “Cutting Edge”, 03.Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate № 11.

01 Maybelline Colorsensational in 527 “Lady Red”– beautiful classic red. A bit too creamy for this colour (I prefer slightly more matte formulas), but still amazing.
02 Rimmel Lasting Finnish in 120 “Cutting Edge”– is similar to MAC “Rebel” lipstick, so if you rave for it, like I was, you can try this first, it’s semi-matte and hight pigmented*)
03 Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate № 11– similar to MAC VivaGlam №1, which is luxurious deep burgundy red, and again Rimmel version is ten times cheaper*)
Maybelline Colorsensational in 705 Choco Cream-Bourjois Effet 3D in 33 Brun Poetic
01.  Maybelline Colorsensational in 705 “Choco Cream”,Bourjois Effet 3D in 33 “Brun Poetic”,
03. They both together.
01 Maybelline Colorsensational in 705 “Choco Cream”– best nude for me and for any person with medium skin tone. I find almost all nude colours to ligth for me and make me look like a ghost, but this colour is lovely, not to pink and not extremly chocolate- golden mean. I love the formulation of this Colorsensational lipsticks, they are creamy and pigmented.

02 Bourjois Effet 3D in 33 “Brun Poetic”– I used to love this lip glosses in my teenage years and thought it’s going to look nice on top of this lipstick. I put a tiny drop of this in the middle of the lips and it adds an extra volume.

What are your favorite lipsticks this autumn?

Sephora Colorful Palette in Eternally Purple Review

So i’ll be reviewing the Sephora Colorful Palette in Eternally Purple. I dont particularly like the sephora collection eyeshadow, simply because the pigmentation is not so great. I think it’s more of a quad than a palette, because it’s small and compact. Please note that this product is given to me so i didn’t purchase it.

Sephora Colorful Palette in Eternally Purple Sephora Colorful Palette in Eternally Purple-swatches

(Left: With flash. Right: Without flash Swatch with UDPP in Eden
It is 4 Layers of eyeshadow on each part)
From the packaging the color looks really pretty. But as you can see from the swatch, the colors are not very vibrant except for the liner which is that deep purple color, even after i put my UDPP underneath it and layering the product about 4 times. For the bright side, it is not ashy or powdery at all, and it blends nicely. For the price, i think they can give a better quality product.Overall: 6.5/10
(+) :
– The texture is fine, it’s not ashy nor it is powdery
– Portable for travel
– There are many color selection
– It blends well

– The color payoff is not so good
– For the price it should be given a better quality
– No mirror
– Crease easily
– Not long lasting

I do love my Sephora Powder Foundation and their other face products, but for the eyeshadow, i’m sorry to say that it’s not worth it. But if you do want to try some other shades, you can get it from sephora (obviously) and it’s retail for $24.00

Thank you for reading, and have a great night!

eBay Muslin Cloths vs Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser

eBay Muslin Cloths

Hello Lovelies

For all you Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser lovers out there I have a brilliant money saving tip.
The beautiful cloths that Liz Earle sells with the matching thread around the edge are so expensive… £4 for 2. You can put them in the washing machine a few times but after about the 8th time they start to lose there stiffness and do not seem to give you a light exfoliation anymore.
This is where my trusty eBay app on my iPhone comes in (don’t download it, it makes buying on eBay easy and fun!).  I bought 10 Muslin Cloths from eBay for around £3 (no shipping).  They came from China so I had to wait about 2 weeks for shipping but that didn’t bother me as I still had a new Liz Earle one in the cupboard.
eBay Muslin Cloths
When they arrived they immediately didn’t look as good quality but when I started to use them I liked them better.  They are ruffer then the Liz Earle ones which I personally prefer as they feel like they are cleaning the face deeper and getting rid of all the awful dead skin.  I have fairly problematic skin so I like to give it a good scrub but if you have perfect, sensitive skin it could be a bit ruff for you.
eBay Muslin Cloths2
eBay Muslin Cloths3
They wash in the machine fine and need to be replaced about every 4 washes but with a saving of £1.70 per cloth I am not to worried about that.  I use mine for about 4-5 days before putting it in the machine as I use it to remove my makeup and they get pretty, how can say this…GROSS after a while. But each to there own when they wash them.

There are lots of sellers on eBay and I am sure they are pretty much all the same.

How to Identify Fake Mac Cosmetics

Fake MAC Cosmetics

I’m sure almost everyone of you guys have seen Mac products being sold in mouthwatering prices. And yes, those are fake. Some of the products are definite fake just by looking at it, but some other ones kinda hard to tell because it looks just like the real ones.

How to Identify Fake Mac Cosmetics How to Identify Fake Mac Cosmetics2 How to Identify Fake Mac Cosmetics3

As you can see the fake one is slightly bigger in packaging, also the Mac logo is easily scratched off. If you can get your hands on the fake one, you can feel the quality of the packaging is bad. Here’s a quick list:
* The packaging feels like a thick sparkly marble, though it is plastic
* Mac lipstick ALWAYS smells like sweet vanilla
* The packaging feels like it was cheaply made out of thin poor quality plastic
* It smells literally like…. Spray paint. This is depend on the product though. Some doesn’t have a scent, some smells really bad.
* Also the name on the label said it’s Dare You, and it’s not, Dare You is a shimmery ruby red lipstick, while this one is pale pink (i’m sorry i can’t show the color of the actual product because i dropped it, and of course, it broke and gets everywhere so i threw it away and be left with the container only, my real mac lipstick won’t broke that easily)
One more thing, Mac will never sells a product if it’s not perfect (The logo, the shape of the product or the packaging). But some companies do sell factory blemish products for a really cheap price, factory blemish means it cannot be sold because it’s not perfect (wrong label, wrong name, or any other minor imperfections).
Unfortunately i cannot find the single blush, so i cant compare it to a real one. If i do find one, i’ll update this post. But here’s one i do have:

How to Identify Fake Mac Cosmetics4 How to Identify Fake Mac Cosmetics5

Mac NEVER sells a blush palette unless you buy their empty blush palette, depot your blushes and stack it in there. Mac only sells single blushes. By the way, the left picture is not coy girl, i took the wrong picture, but just bear with it :p. Mac blushes doesn’t come with a mirror or a brush and the label on the bottom is written in grey NOT white. I’ve seen some fake single blushes on the internet and it comes with a mirror, a brush and label is written in white.
For the price:
* Real Lipstick: $21.00 (originally $15.00 but in my country the price is higher)
* Fake Lipstick: $2.00 – $4.00
* Real Blush: $25.50
* Fake Blush Palette: $5.40
But remember, some fake Mac are being sold expensively because the seller claim that they’re real when they’re not. Lots of fake mac are sold on ebay, so be careful. I do buy makeup from ebay, but only for palettes. Because a lot of sellers on ebay sells fake mac, fake too faced, fake bobbi brown, fake chanel even fake lancome. Buy a branded makeup straight from the store/counter, or if you want to buy it on the net, just make sure you got it from trusted sellers.
You dont know what’s inside or the ingredients of these fake mac products. They might print it on the box, but who knows if they’re not telling the truth?
I hope that was helpful. If i happen to find their fake single blush i’ll update this post along with the powder and eyeshadow. Thank you so much for reading and have a great day!

Quick Makeup of the Day

Hello Lovelies!

I was quickly doing my makeup this morning and I thought I would share with you the products I was using.

Quick Makeup of the Day-product i used

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
NYC Smooth Skin Bronzer
NARs Orgasm Blush
MAC Teddy Eye Pencil
Elf Lift and Correct Eye Brow Pencil
Clinique High Impact Mascara

Quick Makeup of the Day

Please excuse the picture, it was early in the morning and I just couldn’t get a nice photo so unfortunately you are left with a slight over exposed, not so attractive one… All for the love of blogging!!!!.  I need to work out a better lighting technique for my pictures.  Does anyone have any ideas on lighting systems that you can fold and put away in a smallish place?

Anyway back to the point Emma…

It was a very natural look, to be honest, it looked like I had no makeup on at all but I was only at work today so it was perfect.

Mini Review: I have not used the Rimmel Foundation very much and today I found it did not last that long on my skin and it was very dewy which made me look a little oily.  I will try it again soon and powder it next time and I will let you know how I get on with it.

If you are interested in seeing more of these posts let me know in the comments.

Skin79 Hot Pink BB Cream Review

As you all know, BB cream is very popular nowadays. If you dont know what bb cream is, it is a foundation mixed with skin care. The coverage is lighter than a foundation, but better than a tinted moisturizer. Bb creams are made for Asian women, but most of US brands are now come out with bb creams as well such as Smashbox, Clinique, Dior, Garnier, or Maybelline.

Skin79 Hot Pink BB Cream

I’ve been wanting to try the Smashbox one, i’ve read tons of reviews and people loves it. But, then again, i thought to myself, ‘bb creams made for asian, why not try an asian brand?’. I’ve been searching for the best, some people say Skin79, some says Etude House, the other ones say Face Shop or Missha. So i went with Skin79, the hot pink one which is for under 30 and oily skin, the gold one is for 40+ and dry skin. At least that’s what i read.

I bought the small one which is the 15gr. Oh and quick tip: there’s tons of fake Skin79 out there, so make sure you buy it from a trusted seller. I bought mine from For US citizen, you can get it from

First Impression
It’s very thick, thicker than the usual bb creams, almost like a foundation. It gives a very very nice coverage and it’s not sticky nor oily. But, it has a greyish tone to it, which some bb cream does. They only came out with one shade, and the shade doesn’t match me (i’m an NC25-30). When i apply it on my face, i look ‘flat’, maybe some people like that look, but i dont. I have to apply concealer all over my face and then set it with a foundation powder to even out my skin tone. My maybelline bb cream did not do any of those. But it does last quite long, and feels great on my skin. I’ll try to use it a couple more times and make use out of it just to be sure, because i really do want to like this bb cream.

Pros (+):
– Long lasting
– Medium to full coverage
– Thick
– Blendable
– The packaging is really cute

Cons (-):
– Lack of color range
– The grey tone that i’m not loving
– Sometimes the pump is not working (maybe just mine)

15gr IDR 120.000 & 40gr IDR 165.000

40gr $28.00

Will i repurchase the product?
I’m sorry to say, that i will not repurchase it. But my opinion might change.

Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lipstick in PIRATE 99 Review

Lipstick of the Week – Chanel Pirate

Hello Lovelies

I can not say that I have worn this lipstick alot this week as it is not a day to day colour however, it has defiantly been my favorite.

Jordan bought it for me as Christmas Gift and I truly love it.  It is one of them lipsticks that make you feel like a real lady.  Something a mother would have on her dressing table next to her pearls and a little girl would dream over it while walking around in her ‘borrowed’ high heels.

Chanel Rouge Allure – Pirate (99)

Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lipstick-bottom

The packaging is a little strange and I am not normally one for things that are out of the ordinarily but even I think this is quite cool.  This ‘coolness’  however, could be the fact that Chanel can do no wrong in my eyes. You kind of have to un-pop the lipstick out!

This is just one coat. How I prefer to wear it.

The colour is a red with blue undertones which is the most flattering colour for my skin tone and makes your teeth and eyes look a lot whiter and fresh.

What is your favorite lipstick at the moment?

St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub Review

So i decided to do a full review on my current favorite scrub as i said on my november favorites, which is The St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub. I’m no longer using my clinique 7 day scrub ever since i tried this product also this one is a lot cheaper. I used to use the Apricot Scrub for the sensitive skin one from the same brand, but it didn’t work that well for me, it was too gentle for my skin type.

St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub

This abrasive scrub contains Salicylic Acid which is a great ingredient to fight acne. I personally like Benzoyl Peroxide better, but this scrub works for me so i’m good.

Salicylic Acid meant for people with sensitive skin. It is a great peeling agent, though it is more gentle and lacks the oxygen to help kill acne bacteria. Now, when you’re using products with Benzoyl Peroxide what you’re getting is benzoic acid and oxygen. The oxygen helps killing the bacteria that contributes to acne. However benzoic acid causes skin to peel and dry, exfoliating out the plugs of dead skin and sebum that inflame follicles, causing bumbs. So if you have acne and sensitive skin, i suggest using salicylic acid not benzoyl peroxide.

The thing i love the most about this scrub is the way that it makes my skin feels extremely soft and just take out that excess dirt and makeup that i have on my face even after i use my makeup remover.

St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub2 St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub3

I always, always and always read the ingredient of a product before i buy it ESPECIALLY if it’s a skin care products. If it contains any kind of parabens, synthetic fragrances or synthetic polymers even sulfates, i’ll pass on that product. I can still consider parabens in cosmetics, but skin care? H-e-c-k no. That’s why i’m using Clinique, even though the effect is not that amazing, but i love how it feels on my skin AND it’s parabens free, fragrance free, dermatologist tested, and not tested on animals. So does this scrub, it says on the container that it’s 100% natural exfoliants. If you have problems like blemishes or blackheads and your skin is normal to oily, i highly highly recommend this product. But maybe not if you have a super dry skin, it might be too harsh for you.

– Making my skin feels soft afterwards
– Parabens & Phthalates free
– Dermatologist tested
– Oil free
– Hypoallergenic
– Non-comedogenic
– Safe for normal to oily skin
– 100% natural exfoliants
– Smells really good

– Kinda hard to get in my country
BUT St. Ives products are sold in Kem&Chicks on Pacific Place (Indonesia), unfortunately they dont sell this one. But they do have the timeless cleanser, sensitive skin, and some other ones i believe. The price rage is around IDR 100k – 200k depends on which one and how big or small the product is. I think the sensitive one is IDR 140k.

So thank you for reading, and have a wonderful day. Cheerios!

Urban Decay De Slick Makeup Setting Spray Review

A pleasant day junkies! So here is my Urban Decay De Slick Makeup Setting Spray  Review!

Back in i think july-august i loved this setting spray because it’s oil controlling. My face became less oily that it normally is. I havent repurchase it for a while, because i feel like the weather is getting colder and my skin is not so oily. But then i saw that urban decay is having a sale, and i thought to myself, ‘what the heck just buy it’. It was a really good deal and i just cant resist. Urban Decay also has some other choices on setting spray which i think i made a post about that in my ‘Back To Basic’ post, i wrote about all nighter, de slick and dew me but UD has some more, just check their website for further info.

Urban Decay De Slick Makeup Setting Spray Urban Decay De Slick Makeup Setting Spray2 Urban Decay De Slick Makeup Setting Spray3

Urban Decay claims that this spray will keep you matte and shine-free for 16 hours, i dont know about that because i never really use it that long, but it does keep my makeup looking great for around 8-10 hours. As you can see it is made by Skindinavia. Skindinavia has an awesome, awesome setting spray collection. I also want to try the All Nighter, i might get it if it’s still on sale.How to use:
1. Shake well
2. Spray 2-4 times before foundation and after your skin care
3. Spray 2-4 times AFTER foundation/makeup
Remember: Best to spray it in an ‘X’ and ‘T’ motion.
– Matte & shine-free for 8-10 hours
– Smells really nice
– Dries up really fast
– Formulated without parabens
– Available in 3 sizes(-)
(i cant really think about the negative side of this product)You can get it from, sephora sells it too but i think it’s out of stock now, and they don’t sell the XL bottle.

* Travel Bottle 0.51 Fl. oz (15ml) $12.00
* Regular Bottle 4 Fl. oz (120ml) $29.00
* XL Bottle 6 Fl. oz (177ml) $34.00 (it’s on sale for $18.00, get it while you can!)

So, there you have it girls! thank you so much for reading, and have a great day!

Tarte Deluxe Primer Trio Review

Hi beauties! So here is my Tarte Deluxe Primer Trio Review!

I used to use the Tarte Poreless Primer around 2 months ago and i loved it so so much, but then i ran out and i haven’t repurchase it. So i decided to try the Tarte Deluxe Primer Trio which a set contains 2 face primers (flawless and poreless) and 1 eye primer (creaseless) because i also want to try the flawless one. This is a really great set with a very reasonable price, and i feel like the size is not so bad, they are baby sizes but it’s pretty decent to try tarte primers. Since it is holiday season, i think you can get this set for someone that just starting out with makeup.

Tarte Deluxe Primer Trio Tarte Deluxe Primer Trio-back packaging

* Clean Slate Poreless
It says:
– Pore refining
– Waterproof
– Line filling
What i say:
This is a really really good primer. It’s a clear gel so it really is filling my pores, BUT not in a bad way like clogging them . The consistency is quite thick (because it’s a gel) and it gives a matte finish which i really love. It does make my face feels so smooth and refined. Also keeping my makeup last all day long.
* Clean Slate Flawless
It says:
– Silicon-free
– Waterproof
– Brightening
What i say:
This one is more for drier skin, because it’s hydrating. That’s why i like poreless better. Because it is silicon-free so it is safe to use for people who’s allergic to silica. The consistency is really light and liquidy, if that’s even a word. It has a slight floral scent that i like though. It’s not clear, it’s white and kinda shimmery but not like edward cullen shimmery.
* Clean Slate 360 Creaseless
It says:
– Shadow primer and under eye base all-in-one
– Waterproof
– Shadow lock formula
What i say:
I do like it, but it’s too liquidy and it’s white. I’m the kinda person who likes flesh toned eye primer better than colored ones, however if you do like consistency of it, white primer is great because it will pops up your eyeshadow even more. I just wish Tarte come out with more colors.
Tarte Deluxe Primer Trio Review2 Tarte Deluxe Primer Trio Review5 Tarte Deluxe Primer Trio Review3 Tarte Deluxe Primer Trio Review4
(Left to right: Flawless, Poreless, Creaseless)
– It is very convenient for traveling purposes
– Formulated without Parabens, Mineral Oil, Phthalates, Synthetic Fragrance, and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate
– It is inexpensive
– Makeup sits really nice on top of it
– Gives a flawless finish
– 2 of them are colored
Get it from or for $9.00 only!

Sephora Smokey Eyes Kit in Brown Review

So today i’m gonna do a quick review of the Sephora Smoky Eyes Kit: Brown. I receive this as a gift. I personally don’t really like Sephora eyeshadows (The sephora collection, not the brands inside of Sephora). I was skeptical when i first saw this, but the packaging looks promising, but you know what they say, dont judge a book by its cover.

Sephora Smoky Eyes Kit in Brown

Sephora Smoky Eyes Kit in Brown-steps

Sephora Smoky Eyes Kit in Brown review

Smoky Eyes Kit in Brown by sepora

It comes with 4 eyeshadows, a mirror (which i cover with a little post it ),a teeny tiny brush, a brown eyeliner, and a black mascara, it also comes with the step by step tutorial. I believe this product has been discontinued and replaced by the Sephora Pro Lesson Palette, but correct me if i’m wrong.

* The Eyeshadow
1. Beige : A light matte ivory
2. Contour : A medium matt brown
3. Lid : A lighter brown color with a little hint of gold shimer to it
4. Light : A bright shimmery yellow-gold color

Sephora Smoky Eyes Kit in Brown-color-swatches

First off, the pigmentation is actually pretty good except for the beige one. Number 2 is a little bit chalky, but it has a great color payoff, the 3&4 are both good but not that amazing.

Grade : B

Sephora Smoky Eyes Kit in Brown Review2

Sephora Smoky Eyes Kit in Brown Review3

The brush is a real dud and the fact that it is so tiny makes it even worse. (Grade: D)
The eyeliner is a actually pretty good, it glides on nice, unlike some other sephora eyeliner. It’s a kohl, so you can basically use it as a base for your smokey eyes. (Grade: B+)
The mascara is really fine. Judging from the brush, i thought it’s gonna be a volumizing mascara. It does not work really good at volumizing or separating my lashes, but it does lengthen them really really well. It’s a wet mascara, which is my favorite kind. Too bad it’s not black enough. (Grade: A-)

(+) :
* Great packaging
* Travel-friendly
* You can create either smoky or neutral look

(-) :
* One of the eyeshadow is not very pigmented (Beige)
* The brush is a big no no

You can get it from (obviously) Sephora.
Price: I honestly don’t know, but from what i heard its around $20 – $38

That’s all for today! Oh and I’m planning to do a makeup storage tips since last year, it should be up either february or march, i still need to get some things done. I’ll make it easier to find by putting 3 options of where you can find all of the containers that i use (i’ll mention where you can get it from Indonesia, USA, and international) so stay tune for that! Thank you for reading and a wonderful day.

Revlon Colorstay Foundation 110 Ivory Review

I’ve been hearing about this foundation for such a long, long, long time. Like 85% of the people i watch on youtube loves it, but somehow i refused to believe the hype… Until now. I love trying out  new foundations and find what works best for me. Although there’s a down side but I can honestly say that this is definitely one of the best foundation that you can find in the drugstore.

Revlon Colorstay Foundation 110 Ivory2

Revlon Colorstay Foundation 110 Ivory

Revlon Colorstay Foundation 110 Ivory3 (Please ignore the ‘Revlon’, i scratched it when i dropped it… a few times ’cause i’m a clutz)

First Impression
When i first applied it on my face it feels really good, it dries pretty fast so you have to do it in sections (that’s what they say on Ulta and it really does). I’d say it gives medium coverage, but i think you can build it up. It evens out my skin tone very nicely, also hide my redness. Since it is for oily skin it gives a matte finish, i love anything matte. However, when i first purchased it i completely forgot that my skin has been a little dry lately because of the weather, and that matte finish is kinda flaky in some areas on my face and it accentuate the dryness. But i cant really use the dry skin formula either because my T-zone is still really oily (mostly my forehead) and i’m afraid that it’ll just make me shinier. You cant really rely on the SPF, just wear sunscreen and you’ll be fine!
Overall i’m really pleased with this product, i love the consistency, i love the coverage, i love how it last a long time, and i just simply love it. The down side is only because of my weird skin.
Revlon Colorstay Foundation 110 Ivory Review
The color range of the Revlon Colorstay is amazing. But my problem is, i’m an Asian but i don’t have a yellow undertone like 75% of the asians does. Somehow i just figured that out. Whenever i took pictures with my friends, especially with a flash photography, my skin ALWAYS looks so pale compared to my friends, like edward cullen, i dont know why. I have neutral undertone but sometimes it looks pink, sometimes it looks greenish brown (like people with olive undertone). The color of this foundation is 110 Ivory, it’s slightly too light for me since this is the lightest shade. I wanted to get Buff, but buff is too yellow, i feel like. So i went with Ivory because it has pink undertone. I’m an NW20-25, i’m not that fair so of course ivory is a teensy bit too light for me, but i’m still able to use it though. Fyi if you dont know, NW is slightly darker than NC because of the pink/red undertones. Here’s a picture of me and my friend (i’m on the left):
Revlon Colorstay Foundation 110 Ivory Review2
( Please excuse the quality of this picture, it was taken with my ipod, also excuse the effect, i added a yellow tone effect to make me look more alive.
It was a super dark place and we used a flash from her cell)
Sorry for blabling on throughout the post!
Overall: 9.5/10
* Really nice coverage
* Lightweight
* Last a long time
* Evens out my skin tone and redness
* Affordable
* Wide color range
* Matte finish
* Buildable coverage
* Does not come with a pump so you cant control the amount of product that come out
* The smell is not so pleasant, it’s not horrible but it kinda smells like the chemicals inside the product. It doesn’t bother me too much though (forgot to include this one!)
* Dries really fast so you cant apply it all over your face at once, you have to apply it by sections
You can get it from pretty much any drugstore or Ulta. Wherever Revlon are sold.
It retails for $12.99 (depends on where you got them)
And by the way the pictures are taken on top of my vanity because i’m bored with those white background :p
So thank you for reading and have a wonderful day!

What’s in My Travel Makeup Bag?

The Makeup Bag is from Shiseido. What i love about this bag is so convenient for me to travel, not too big but it can fit all of the items i can possibly need when i’m on-the-go.

Please note: This is what i’d bring when i’m staying overnight like on vacation or trips, not when i’m just going to the mall or coffee shop.

What's in My Travel Makeup Bag What's in My Travel Makeup Bag2

Basic Face Products:

For Foundation i’d bring my Make Up For Ever HD for night time and Bobbi Brown Long Wear Even Finishfor day time. For concealer, the Nyx HD in beige for my under eye circles and green for my redness, andBenefit Erase Paste for any blemishes (DO NOT put directly to your blemishes, because when you double dip the pot the germs will transfer from your blemish to the product, i use cotton swab than use my finger to apply it). And to set everything i’m bringing my NARS Pressed Powder for a more settle look and Sephora Foundation Powder when i want more coverage.

What's in My Travel Makeup Bag3

For blush i’d bring two powder blush and a cream blush. The Mac Well Dressed and Pinch O Peach is perfect for day time and i brought two so that i can have varieties, but they’re both pretty much just a beautiful neutral pink color. The NARS Cassandre Cream Blush is what i’d use for night time, even though it looks super dramatic, but trust me it’s not that bold, when you blend it out the color is kinda light maroon color with brown undertone. Since i dont use bronzer all over my face, just to contour, i’m using the ELF Blush & Bronzer Duo i’m mainly just using the bronzer which is crazy pigmented, that i sometime use for an all over lid color when i want a settle smoky look.

What's in My Travel Makeup Bag4

For eyeshadow i’d bring two palettes with me, the Sleek Storm Palette and a Maybelline quad, both are very very inexpensive yet very pigmented, i love the neutrals on those. Of course you cant wear eyeshadow without a primer, i’d bring my little travel size of the Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden which is a matte flesh color primer. My eyeshadow never wears off easily, i can even use mac paint pot on it’s own and it wont crease. For my lashes, i love doubling my mascara for a voluminous lashes, for that i’m binging my Maybellin Falsies and a mini Benefit Bad Gal Lash. And last but not least, eyeliner, i’d bring my little Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Pencil in zero for my waterline also my upper inner rim and my Maybelline Gel Liner in blackest black for my upper lash line.
What's in My Travel Makeup Bag6
For the lips i’d bring my cute egg-shaped EOS Lip Balm in Strawberry Sorbet. And then the Maybelline Color Sensational in coffee toffee which is a nude kinda brownish lipstick that’s perfect for a smokey look. The Mac Rebel is perfect for a night time with a neutral eye look. For day time i’d just use the Mac Chatterbox and the Stila Lip Glaze in Brown Sugar on top of it.
So that is all the makeup i’d bring when i’m on my trips. Thank you for reading, and have a great day!

DIY: Eyeshadow Primer

Eyeshadow primer is essential, if you don’t use one your eyeshadow will crease a lot easier and the color won’t be so vibrant. So i’m going to show the easy way to make your own primer, but be aware that it will not last as long as UDPP or Mac Paint Pot or Too Faced Shadow Insurance, it will last around 5-8 hours depending on your skin type.

DIY-Eyeshadow Primer

You’ll need:

  • A liquid or cream foundation (Cream will work better)
  • A concealer (Optional)
  • A body butter or a thicker consistency body lotion like i’m using (if you’re using regular body lotion the texture might be too runny)
  • A container
  • A spatula/stick
Please note that you don’t have to use the same brand as i do.
Step by step:
  1.  Pretty self explanatory, squeeze out a pea-sized amount of the body butter in the container.

DIY-Eyeshadow Primer2

2.   Then add the same amount og foundation and concealer

DIY-Eyeshadow Primer3

3.   Mix all the ingredients together until it look something like this:

DIY-Eyeshadow Primer4

4.   Now your eye primer is ready to use!
Just so you know, here’s a comparison between the Bodycology body lotion and a regular lotion
DIY-Eyeshadow Primer5
Left; Bodycology Body Lotion
Right; Bath and Body Works Body Lotion

(here’s a swatch with different kind of primer)
(Left to Right)
1. No Primer
2. Homemade Primer
3. Urban Decay Primer Potion
4. Tarte Clean Slate Creaseless Eye Primer
Somehow the eyeshadow with UDPP looks kinda different, i don’t know why. But the point is eye primer is really important and as you can see, the eyeshadow without primer doesn’t look so vibrant.

Extra Info:
  • If you have a light pink, a medium pink, and a dark pink polish you can just use that. But i’m just mixing white and pink.
  • You’ll need a light green and a dark green (i’m also mixing the regular green with white)
Step by Step:
  • Apply a base coat and paint all of your nails a turquoise color. Wait a minute or two until it’s 70% dry. Then create 3 blobs on each nail using the medium pink polish.

Floral Nail Art Tutorial-3

  • Using the nail art brush (I’m using my Maybelline Hyper Sharp liner which already dried out) create a C-shaped pattern with the dark pink polish like so:

Repeat the same step with the white polish and the light pink polish. It’s okay if you overlap the dark pink a little bit. Keep making the C-shaped pattern until it turns out like this:

Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque Review

A classic, affordable, yet awesome face mask. It’s the Queen Helene’s Mint Julep Masque. This is basically the green mask you see on movies (at least that’s what  i heard).

Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque

Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque Review2 Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque Review Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque Review3

It claims to shrink large pores, dry up acne pimples and rinse away blackheads.

I personally agree with it. After using it for a while i  do noticed that my pores is shrinking and blackheads starting to fades away. I don’t really have acne but i do have acne scars which also starting to fade.

When i apply it on my face it feels really cools and tingles. Some people with severe acne said that it burns, i think it’s because the mintiness. It’s okay if it burns a little, like what they say ‘Beauty is pain’, but if it’s unbearable just wash it off of course and you can apply a really thin layer next time.

How to use:
1. Apply a thin/thick layer of the product on your face (depends on your skin type, if you have drier skin, apply a thin layer)
2. Wait for it to harden, you will feel it becomes really tight
3. Go scare people with your green mask. You will look like Hulk’s wife
4. When it’s completely dry rinse it off with lukewarm water and a washcloth
5. Your skin will feel incredibly soft

The only downside of this product is, it contains paraben and fragrance. If you read my blog for the last couple of months, you know how much i hate both of those ingredients on skin care products. But i decided to try this mask since everyone said it’s incredible. So try it at your own will, you can decide whether this is a product for you or not.

Overall: 9/10
– Dry up pimples
– Shrink enlarge pores
– Rinse away blackheads
– Your skin will feel soft afterwards
– Affordable

– Contains Paraben
– Contains Fragrance
– A bit hard to squeeze the product out since it’s like a clay

You can get it from Target, Walgreens or any other drugstore.
(CVS used to carry the Queen Helene brand, but then they make their own mint mask called CVS Purifying Mint Masque which basically the same thing, but some people said that the Queen Helene is better)
Retails for $3.70 (I got mine for $12 include shipping fees)

Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup Review

Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup Review

First Impression:
First off, i love that it has a plastic cap so when i’m traveling, it won’t get everywhere and mess up my bag. It’s medium-full coverage foundation. The consistency is literally like a whipped cream, it feels really thick on my face. I love the flawless finish it gives, not to mention it’s not sticky at all, unlike some other cream foundations. It claims to last 24 hours, i never wear makeup for 24 hours, but i can guarantee this foundation will last all day.
For application, they recommend using your fingers since this product is so thick.
The downside is, i once set this foundation using a sponge, and the sponge literally took away some of the product on my face. I know that this happens when you set a foundation with powder using a sponge and not a brush, but i only pat it yet my foundation still taken away. So i recommend using a brush to set it, i usually use a kabuki brush.

Overall: 9.0/10
* Last all day
* Non sticky
* Medium to full coverage
* Comes with a plastic cap
* Flawless finish
* Talc free
* Paraben free
* Affordable

* The packaging is heavy since it made out of glass considering the product is only a few 0.8 Fl. Oz (23.7ml)

Maybelline The Rocket Volum’ Express Mascara Review

I’m so excited that i can finally get my hands on the Maybelline Rocket Volum’ Mascara (since it’s not available on my country and never will). I’ve been hearing lots of great things about this macara.

Maybelline The Rocket Volum' Express Macara

Maybelline The Rocket Volum' Express Macara-brush

First Impression:
I love the humongous brush and the formula. When i first apply it, it volumizes my lashes like no other. Although i noticed that it’s teeny bit clumpy after 2 coats but i’m definitely in love with this product. I love the way my lashes look after i applied it.

Unfortunately it does not separate my lashes enough but it lengthen them quite a bit. However it curled them good enough that i didn’t have to use an eyelash curler.

Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Perfume Review

Juicy Couture: Viva La Juicy

I recently bought the Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy perfume. I’ve heard so many good things about it, but i was too confused deciding to get this or the Taylor Swift one (frankly i don’t like her, but i love her perfume) and i went with Viva La Juicy simply because the packaging is so freaking cute.

Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Perfume

It says:
The Viva la Juicy girl never turns down a glass of champagne or the chance to get into the tiniest bit of trouble. Viva la Juicy combines delicious wild berries with creamy vanilla and bright jasmine. Notes: Wild Berries, Mandarins, Honeysuckle, Gardenia, Jasmine, Amber, Caramel, Vanilla, Sandalwood, Praline. Style: Tantalizing. Teasing. Tempting.

I can definitely smell the Berries and Gardenia mixed with Vanilla. I described the scent to be floral and sweet. It’s just the perfect fragrance for a girly girl. It’s smells like an heiress walking down the stairs wearing a long fuchsia dress with a medium-sized glittery bow on her waist. That’s how i describe it, weird, but that’s what popped out on my mind the first time i smelled it.

It’s a clean and fresh scent, perfect for spring and summer!
