Sephora VIB Haul

Hello my beautiful ladies,

I know I haven’t posted in quite a while, but today I decided to show you girls my Sephora V.I.B. Haul. For those of you who don’t know what a Sephora V.I.B. is, let me quickly explain. Sephora, like many other stores has a rewards program, I believe that for each dollar you spend, you get a point, and when you reach 350 points in one year, you qualify to be a V.I.B., or in other words a Very Important Beauty Insider. Being a V.I.B. at Sephora definitely has it’s perks and one of the many perks is that they sometimes send you coupons for a percentage off your purchase or purchases. Well, last week I received a coupon from Sephora, and of course, I thought to myself, “Well, there’s no better time to splurge at Sephora” and that’s exactly what I did. Let’s keep in mind that my idea of splurge is not necessarily the next persons idea of splurging, but anyways, let’s get on to the haul. 🙂

Sephora VIB Haul
1. Bareminerals Prime Time Foundation Primer Original
Bareminerals Prime Time Foundation Primer Original
Love this stuff! Been using samples of this since I started using bareminerals about a year ago, and I finally brought myself to buy
the full size. Great primer! Smooths my skin beautifully.
2. Bareminerals Mineral Veil
Bareminerals Mineral Veil
Just like the previous product, I’ve been surviving off samples of this, and I finally decided to buy the full size, and I have
to say this stuff is amazing!
3. Bareminerals Well Rested
Bareminerals Well Rested
I bought one of these several months ago, and I just love it.Even when I don’t wear concealer, I pop this under my eyes
and it covers and brightens beautifully. A must have for girls like me who stay up late doing homework.
4. Bareminerals Flawless Definition Volumizing Mascara
Bareminerals Flawless Definition Volumizing Mascara
Honestly, I don’t love this mascara. The first time I used this I really liked it, but when I tried it again after several months
I realized this mascara is too dry, too clumpy, and definitely not my cup of tea. I decided to keep it anyway as a layering
5. Lancome Hypnose Staar Mascara
Lancome Hypnose Staar Mascara
Now this mascara I love! It works so well on my lashes. It seperates, volumizes, lengthens. I’ll try to do a review on this
one soon. I will say though, if you’re expecting it to sparkle, you’ll be disappointed.
6. Kat Von D Ladybird True Romance Palette
Kat Von D Ladybird True Romance Palette
Now this is where I think I almost died and went to Heaven! This palette is the only higher end palette I have brought myself
to buy. It’s almost entirely matte, with the exception of thedark gray shade which is somewhat of a satin finish, and  I can’t even begin to explain how beautiful and pigmented these shadows are. I haven’t tried it on my eyes yet, and I only swatched it once, but I’m obsessed. I cant wait to  use it.

Well, as you all can see, I’m still highly obsessed with Bareminerals products. I just think they are UH-MAY-ZING! But I’ve also found a couple loves outside the Bareminerals brand that I would highly highly recommend. I hope you enjoyed this haul. Thanks so much for reading.

DIY Tinted Moisturizer…using Aveeno Ultra Calming Moisturizer and Maybelline Superstay Foundation

Hello my fellow beauties,

I know that many of us, hate to feel like we have pounds of foundation slapped on, but sometimes we just need the coverage. Recently, I started mixing my foundation and moisturizer to make my own Tinted Moisturizer; I mean, think about it, tinted moisturizer can be a little pricey, it can be hard to find the right shade, and most of the time, it has very poor coverage. By making your own, you can control how much coverage you want to get from your tinted moisturizer, you save money by using things you already have, and you already have the perfect shade in your foundation. I’m going to attempt to show you what I do in pictures. Hope this helps! 🙂

DIY Tinted Moisturizer...using Aveeno Ultra Calming Moisturizer and Maybelline Superstay Foundation
Before: As you can see, I have absolutely nothing on my face.I don’t have pimples anymore, but I was left with dark acne scarring which makes me feel quite insecure, so I feel the need to cover it,but I don’t want to slap on a whole bunch  of foundation.

Hello loves,

So I know I haven’t posted in a really long while, but I’m back today with a review on a drugstore moisturizer, Aveeno Ultra Calming Moisturizer with Spf 15.
I’ll start off by saying, that I have normal to dry skin, and I tend to break out a lot around my cheek area, I have some really dry patches, and I have redness on and round my nose, a little on my chin, and some on my cheeks. I wouldn’t say it’s severe redness or anything, but it’s definitely noticeable.
So let’s get started….
Where to buy and how much: I bought this at Walmart for around $15, a little bit pricey for drugstore, but I figured it was worth it because Aveeno has proven to be great quality in the past to me. You can also find this at Target, CVS, Walgreens, grocery stores. Prices will vary from around $14-$16. Oh, and sometimes you can even find it on sell.
Packaging and amount: This product, instore will be in a box with a clear window to show the actual bottle. The actual packaging is a light beige color, and has a beige color top. It has a pump, which is awesome, and you get 4 fl oz.

My Top 5 Bareminerals Products That I’ve Tried So Far

Hello again ladies,
Lately I’ve been on a role, and I have to say it feels good. I love posting new stuff on my blog because I feel like I’m helping people invest their money wisely into their makeup products. I love knowing that my posts can help someone decide whether they like, dislike, want to try, or can save money on a product. I hope you all have been enjoying the recent posts.
As some of you may, or may not know, in the past year and a half, or so, I have fallen in deep love with Bareminerals. It has helped my skin improve, and I don’t feel bad for my skin when I have Bareminerals products on my face. Out of all the products that I’ve tried, I have loved 99.9% of their stuff, but there’s still a ton of stuff I still want to try. This post is just to share with you all my top 5 Bareminerals products that I have tried and I believe are absolutely worth the investment. Now let’s get started. These are in order of application, not in order of favoritism. lol. 🙂

China Glaze Crackle Glaze in Cracked Concrete Swatch

Hello beauties,

About two or three weeks ago, I purchased the China Glaze Crackle Glaze in Cracked Concrete, which is the exact same thing as the OPI Black Shatter nail polish that was introduced in the Katy Perry Collection, except it’s a charcoal gray color.

The China Glaze Crackle Glaze collection had a black, a white, this gray, a hot pink with shimmer, a mint blue, and a purple shimmer. All of which were crackle polishes. I only purchased this specific one because I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it, but I can honestly say I do.

Ulta Haul & First Impressions

Hello my loves,

I’m back at it again with an Ulta Haul. I’ll be honest, I don’t often look on Ulta’s website and purchase things, but as I browsed their website last week, I ran into a few good deals that I couldn’t pass up, so here’s what I bought…
The first thing I snatched up was this Bareminerals Passionate for Pastels Kit for $45.
Ulta had actually emailed a $10 off a $50 Bareminerals purchase coupon and this was on sale for $36 last week, so I thought it was quite the bargain. The set contains a full size Flawless Definition Mascara, a full size Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in Go Getter (which is gorgeous, if I may say so myself, a Bareminerals Ready Eyeshadow Quad in The Sweetest Thing, and a Bareminerals Blush in Sorbet all in a gorgeous pale yellow makeup bag with golden undertones and a gold zipper. Quite the bargain, even at $45, if I may say so myself. So far, I love everything.

Max Factor Masterpiece MAX Mascara Review

I heard good things about this mascara a while ago, the endless TV adverts had me wondering if it was any good but I just never got round to purchasing it. It has a rubber wand as you can see in the picture below, and in my experience rubber wands seem to really grip onto the lashes which I love as my lashes are quite long and get tangled up in each other easily.

Max Factor Masterpiece MAX Mascara

Max Factor Masterpiece MAX Mascara-wand

Masterpiece Max has quite a liquid consistency, I found it transferred easily onto my brow bone and even the base of my lashes so it took a little longer to dry.

With 2 coats, it feels a little bit heavy on the lashes… I can tell it’s there anyway! It curls my lashes beautifully and holds them in place by making them feel a tad crispy, which personally I like.

Max Factor Masterpiece MAX Mascara-when applied 4 coats

After 3 coats, it still hasn’t managed to clump up or look too ‘spidery’ and 4 coats looked just fine… Nicely separated and they don’t look like horrible crooked spiders legs.

Max Factor Masterpiece MAX Mascara-when applied

4 coats.

It wears very well, it doesn’t flake off or smudge and seems to do a great job at keeping the volume of my lashes as well as the curl.

A great mascara if your on a budget and want some volume and also have a bit of time to wait for your lashes to dry.

Maybelline Fit Me Shine Free Foundation Stick in Ivory Review

Hello my loves,
So today I’m back with yet another review on the Maybelline Fit Me Shine Free Foundation Stick. I recently saw this while walking through the aisles at Walmart, and being that stick foundations are a rare commodity in the drugstore world, I decided to give this foundation a shot for everyday or lazy day purposes. Just to let you all know, I have normal to dry skin with some slight hyper pigmentation on my cheeks from past acne.

WARNING: You will be seeing my bare face in this post. It is not a pretty site…don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Magic Hair Rollers Review

I have decided I hate heat on my hair… and anything that is going to give me some sort of groomed style without damaging my hair is going to be fantastic.

After hearing from my mum that a hairdresser in her church used rollers in her hair overnight I was quite shocked. I mean is that not like a Dot Cotton type of thing? rollers in your hair before bed…

So I decided to give it a go and try out a few different rollers.

The first ones I purchased were velcro ones… I hate them… My hair just catches in them and it pulls at my hair… I just outright can’t stand them. So they have gone to the back of the drawer.

The second thing I bought was these ‘Magic’ hair rollers from China…

Magic Hair Rollers review

Magic Hair Rollers -when in use

I bought these from eBay from this ebay seller from the UK. They are dead cheap, I only used three of these at a time, but I bought 12 since I have no idea how long they are going to last for considering I have broken one already.

They are so easy to use, Simply pop your hair in the slit and roll your hair up! et voila! The instructions said to put your hair in the slit and slide the roller down to the bottom of your hair and roll it up. But I found that this way the curl or wave doesn’t work very well… its very uneven and not so nice. So instead I put my hair through the slit at the top, and curled my hair around the roller, securing it by putting the end through the slit and folding it over and fastening it. Sounds complicated but its not.

Here is the results of sitting with my hair in rollers for around 4 hours, I didn’t sleep in them to make sure I knew what way my hair was going to turn out:

I really like the outcome of these! I will probably do two rows of three next time and actually sleep in them, I will probably show you the outcome of that very soon!

A nice product if you like wavy hair and don’t like velcro rollers like me, and your not breaking the bank for £2.60 for 12!

Next I will be using sponge foam rollers… full on granny style!!

EDIT: I tried the granny rollers last night and they left marks from the clips… Fail.

Ruffian Inspired Manicure

Hello again lovely ladies,

Today, I decided to share with you girls my nail look of the day. I was inspired to do this nail design after I saw MissJenFabulous do it on her Youtube channel. I swear, I just love her nail designs; she’s amazing. From what she said, this nail look has been referred to as the Ruffian Manicure because it was first seen a few years ago on the Ruffian Runway. You can really use any color combo that you’d like, but since it’s summer, I thought this pretty coral color and this metallic bronze shade looked awesome together. The design is actually really simple to do and looks really nice. Hope you girls like. 🙂

Kate Middleton’s Stunning Wedding Makeup Inspiration

With the Royal Wedding still in my head, I had to do a face of the day based on Kate Middleton’s stunning wedding makeup. Since I will be doing my own wedding makeup soon, I also thought it would be a good chance to see how quick and easy it is to do!

I know that it is nowhere near as dark as Kate made her eyes, but I like it just the same, it is darker in real life and I wouldn’t chance making it much darker on my wedding day. It is a lovely look and one I might consider! I am also debating on whether to wear fake lashes or not.

What did you think of Kates makeup? Too much blush?

Favorite Nude/Neutral Drugstore Lipsticks

Hello again beautiful ladies,

As you can see from the title, today I decided to bring you all my favorite nude/neutral lipsticks from the drugstore. My all time favorite lipsticks are nudes, and my most viewed blogpost has been my TOP 4 NEUTRAL LIPSTICKS post that I posted a couple of years ago. Sadly, 2 out of the 4 lipsticks are discontinued now, and I figured it was time to make an updated version. So let’s jump right in to my favorite nude/neutral drugstore lipsticks.

Favourite Cleansing Face Masks

Lately my skin has been misbehaving (Aunt Flo arrived) and I decided to make myself a solid skin care routine which I have written out and stuck to my bathroom cupboard. I use a skincare mask three times a week and it is working wonders for me right now! The three I have been using are praised within the blogging community and I have to say I absolutely love them!

Favourite cleansing face Masks

Soap and Glory: The Fab Pore Facial Peel.

My skin gets congested very quickly and this has been keeping those horrible spots at bay, I use this once a week… on a Tuesday to be exact and my skin is so baby soft after using it. I take a grape sized amount onto the palm of my hand and spread it all over my face until the little blue beads that are in there dissolve, it doesn’t burn in any way unless my skin is broken, I should really learn to stop popping my spots! I leave it for around 15 minutes, read a book or something then remove it with a facial sponge. A facial sponge is a quick and effective way of removing any mask as it lightly exfoliates as well. My face looks fresh, healthy and my pores look lovely and clean!
I give it a 9/10, one mark off as I cant feel it working.

Soap and Glory-The Fab Pore Facial Peel

Liz Earle Deep Cleansing Mask.

I use this mask once a week when I need a bit of freshening up. It is a very lightweight mask, not like the thick ones that I am used to so I feel that it doesn’t do as much to draw out any impurities, it smells a lot like clay which it should do as it is clay based. Not the best smelling mask, but it really does work! I use this when my skin is acting up for around 20 minutes and it leaves it feeling very clean and clear, any spots that I do have look so calm and redness is reduced so I don’t have to use much concealer. I remove it once again with a facial sponge that comes with the Deep Cleansing Mask – a great perk to get with a great product.
I give this an 8/10 as the smell isnt very pleasant and it has a very thin consistency.

Liz Earle Deep Cleansing Mask

Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque

I bought this mask quite a while ago off ebay as I had heard great things from it when people had any break outs or any pesky blackheads to deal with. It is very cheap with the most expensive price I have found is around £7. The Mint Julep Masque has a lovely thick consistency and a thin layer is all I need to feel like it is really doing its job. It feels very fresh on the face and it dries to give you a cakey face, but the great thing about it is that you can actually see all of the impurities getting sucked out of your pores. In around 15 minutes I wash it off and have baby soft skin. I also use it on individual spots daily until it dries up and disappears which only takes a few days!

Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque

A fantastic Mask that deserves 10/10 because in my opinion it ticks all the boxes!

What are your favourite masks that ticks all your boxes?!

How to Fix a Broken Lipstick

While trawling the internet trying to fix my lipstick, I keep seeing and being told that I should light a match or use a lighter to melt the lipstick inside the tube and then stick it back together again. But what I should have done was just smoosh it into a pot and be done with it. Here was my fixing disaster:
