The Body Shop Ionic Clay Mask review :
I would always say that I would love to have perfect skin, rather than buying a lot of concealers and cover ups. I have never really used any masks, I just thought that they were a huge waste of time and made you look a bit silly.
They do make you look silly, but I now don’t see them as a huge waste of time any more. I bought The Body Shop’s Seaweed Ionic Clay Mask a few months ago and I have been using it every two to three days since.
It is ‘A deep-cleansing mask treatment with algae extracts and combined natural ionic clay action to draw impurities from the pores and absorb excess oil. Enriched with minerals to condition and revitalise the skin.’ Are you noticing a running theme here?
The first time I applied The Body Shop Ionic Clay Mask , it burned, and I don’t just mean a tingle,I mean I thought my skin was going to fall off. I stuck with it anyway for the 10 minutes, then afterwards I went online to see if anyone else had the same issue with this mask, and unsurprisingly they did. It turned out that I was using too much of it, I slathered it all over my face instead of lightly applying it.
So after that first horrific experience, I tried it again two days later. It only tingled this time round so I knew it was doing its job nicely. After leaving it on my face for around 15 minutes, I wiped it all off with a dampened face cloth. My face felt very sensitive after this so I cleansed and toned and my face felt so soft and my pores looked reduced. I am not sure if they were reduced though or the mask had literally sucked out all of the impurities so It made them less noticeable. I will go for the latter, for the pure fact that once the mask had dried, around my nose and chin area were speckled, as though it hadn’t dried properly it tiny areas. I believe this to be the impurities that were hiding in my pores.
I love this The Body Shop Ionic Clay face mask, but only because it was able to draw out impurities. I don’t have sensitive skin either, just normal/combination skin but I find it a little delicate after I take it off. I don’t have anything to really compare it to, I gather that they all don’t burn or tingle. Do any of you have any suggestions for a different face mask that may do the same job or better?
