Ulta Haul & First Impressions

Hello my loves,

I’m back at it again with an Ulta Haul. I’ll be honest, I don’t often look on Ulta’s website and purchase things, but as I browsed their website last week, I ran into a few good deals that I couldn’t pass up, so here’s what I bought…
The first thing I snatched up was this Bareminerals Passionate for Pastels Kit for $45.
Ulta had actually emailed a $10 off a $50 Bareminerals purchase coupon and this was on sale for $36 last week, so I thought it was quite the bargain. The set contains a full size Flawless Definition Mascara, a full size Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in Go Getter (which is gorgeous, if I may say so myself, a Bareminerals Ready Eyeshadow Quad in The Sweetest Thing, and a Bareminerals Blush in Sorbet all in a gorgeous pale yellow makeup bag with golden undertones and a gold zipper. Quite the bargain, even at $45, if I may say so myself. So far, I love everything.

I actually hadn’t tried out none of these products from bareminerals, and ladies if you’re looking to try out new products from this brand, do so by buying kits. They usually come with a few full size products or nice size products, and they are usually pretty affordable. I haven’t used the eye shadows yet; I only swatched them, but they are so pigmented and buttery feeling. The mascara, I’ve used twice, and it definitely defines; it’s such a nice, natural looking mascara. As far as the blush, it’s pretty and subtle for a natural look. And finally, the lip gloss, I just fell in love with, it’s a corally pink, and makes your lips tingle a little, which I personally enjoy. 🙂

Since I needed to pick up something else because I needed $50 worth of stuff to use the coupon, I picked up the Well Rested Trio for $15. The set included a deluxe sample size Well Rested concealer/brightener, a  Well Rested Face & Eye Brightner, and a mini bareminerals concealer brush. I’ll be honest the liquid Well Rested brightener twist pen is a waste, it gives no color payoff, no highlight, it’s barely noticeable, but the powder version is amazing, I love it, the little concealer brush is small but is nice. This product was a 2 out of 3, not bad, but not amazing.

Next up, due to my bright nail polish obsession, and Ulta’s Buy 2, get 1 Free deal, I had to pick up 3 of the China Glaze Sunsational Polishes. I picked up Highlight of My Summer (bright, almost neon, minty green), Neon&On&On (Bright, almost neon, light-medium pink), and Sun of a Peach (Bright almost neon peachy orange).
China Glaze Sunsational Polishes China Glaze Sunsational Nail Polishes China Glaze Sunsational color China Glaze Sunsational Polish I’ve gotta say, these dry semi matte, so I feel like they are neons to some extent. They are a bit streaky in the first two coats, but the third evens it all out. They’re gorgeous shades that aren’t too similar to anything else I own, so I don’t mind the semi difficult formula. I’m happy with them. 🙂
Of course when you buy online at Ulta they send you some samples as well. I actually received three perfumes Taylor Swift Enchanted Wonderstruck which is the only one I’ve tried so far, and I liked it. The others are Vera Wang Princess and Pink Sugar. The little jar on the far right is a deluxe sample that I received as a gift with purchase form bareminerals and it is the Bareminerals Renew and Hydrate Eye Cream, which I must say is amazing so far. I have dry skin, even around my eyes sometimes, and it moisturizers under there like a dream. The best part, you only need the smallest little bit. I haven’t even dipped into the jar, I’m still working on the product on the lid.

The final thing I purchased on a separate occasion, only because I desperately needed a new straightening iron, is the Red 1 1/2 inch Ultra Chi.  This originally retails for around $160, but Ulta usually has it on sale for $99.95, and they were offering a 20% off one item coupon code, so I purchased it for $79.95+tax. So far, I really love it. It doesn’t tug at my hair and it makes my hair feel and look sleek, besides, I love flat irons that have the wider plates instead of the standard 1 inch. A brief history, I’ve had a cheap Sally Beauty supply Flat Iron, a Corioliss(I think that’s how you spell it) that I bought at a kiosk at the mall when I was in high school, a Chi 1 inch Flat Iron that I ended up giving away because my best friend bought me a Paul Mitchell 1 1/2 inch Flat Iron, which I loved, but ended up breaking 🙁  Then I bought a new Corioliss, which honestly sucked 🙁 and now this one. Like I said, right now I love it, time will tell how long it lasts.

So that’s it ladies, there’s my haul. I can honestly say, that I love everything that I got. No regrets on these online purchases. I hope you enjoyed and find this somewhat helpful. Thanks so much for reading.
